Product Details

  • Article Number: 191B0114 — Ridex steering rack gaiter / boot, the flexible rubber bellows that seal each end of the steering rack where the inner tie rod exits the rack housing.
  • Fitting Position: Front Axle, both sides — sold as a set of 2; one gaiter per side.
  • Inner Diameter 2: 16 mm / 63 mm — dual-diameter specification: 16 mm small end (fits the tie rod shaft) and 63 mm large end (fits the steering rack housing flange). Size-matching is critical.
  • For Steering Gear Manufacturer: THYSSEN KRUPP — matches the OE steering rack manufacturer supplied to BMW for the X3 F25. Incompatible with ZF-manufactured racks found on some other BMW models — verify your rack's manufacturer before fitting.
  • Length: 204 mm — axial length of the gaiter when at nominal steering-centre position. Critical for correct clamping and range of motion.
  • Condition: New — factory-sealed in Ridex packaging.
  • Manufacturer: RIDEX — AUTODOC's in-house OEM-equivalent aftermarket brand.
  • OEM Cross-References: BMW 32 10 6 779 622, BMW 32 10 6 795 845 (plus additional cross-references).
  • Vehicle Compatibility: Designed for BMW X3 F25 (2010 onwards) and BMW X4 F26 (2014 onwards) fitted with Thyssen Krupp steering racks. Always verify against your vehicle's VIN and confirm steering rack manufacturer before purchasing.
  • Replacement Recommendation: Torn or cracked gaiters allow water and dirt into the steering rack — ignored long enough, this destroys the rack internals and necessitates a full (expensive) rack replacement. A cheap, critical maintenance item. Always replace both sides simultaneously. Best replaced during inner tie rod replacement, as both jobs require removing the outer tie rod end.
